I haven't heard of such behaviour before.
This problem does not sounds SAP PA specific though. You may know that SAP PA = SAP Lumira + data mining. I understand you see this behaviour in an area that comes from Lumira. So you might get a better answer if you post the question in the Lumira forum.
It would help if you could try to reproduce in a SAP Lumira environment.
